Broker referral bonuses are conditional by design: opening the account is never enough. There is a funding threshold and usually a trade requirement, and the bonus lands weeks after both are cleared. Sites that headline the amount without the condition are quoting the best case.
The bonus is also the least important number in the decision. Order costs, spreads and the range of instruments will outweigh a one-off bonus within a year of ordinary investing. Pick the broker on those, then use the referral link if you were signing up anyway.
